Gut microbiota as a target in the bone health of livestock and poultry: roles of short-chain fatty acids

چکیده

Abstract The regulation and maintenance of bone metabolic homeostasis are crucial for animal skeletal health. It has been established that structural alterations in the gut microbiota ecological dysbiosis closely associated with homeostasis. its metabolites, especially short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), affect almost all organs, including bone. In this process, SCFAs positively healing by acting directly on cells involved repair after or shaping appropriate anti-inflammatory immunomodulatory responses. Additionally, have potential to maintain health livestock poultry because their various biological functions regulating metabolism, immune function, calcium absorption, osteogenesis osteolysis. This review primarily focuses role metabolism provides insight into studies related poultry.

Gut microbiota–derived short-chain fatty acids and kidney diseases

Gut microbiota and its metabolites play pivotal roles in host physiology and pathology. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), as a group of metabolites, exert positive regulatory effects on energy metabolism, hormone secretion, immune inflammation, hypertension, and cancer. The functions of SCFAs are related to their activation of transmembrane G protein-coupled receptors and their inhibition of his...

Free Fatty Acids Profiles Are Related to Gut Microbiota Signatures and Short-Chain Fatty Acids

A growing body of evidence highlights the relevance of free fatty acids (FFA) for human health, and their role in the cross talk between the metabolic status and immune system. Altered serum FFA profiles are related to several metabolic conditions, although the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Recent studies have highlighted the link between gut microbiota and host metabolism. However, alt...

Evidence for the Gut Microbiota Short-Chain Fatty Acids as Key Pathophysiological Molecules Improving Diabetes

In type 2 diabetes, hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, increased inflammation, and oxidative stress were shown to be associated with the progressive deterioration of beta-cell function and mass. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) are organic fatty acids produced in the distal gut by bacterial fermentation of macrofibrous material that might improve type 2 diabetes features. Their main beneficial a...

Formation of short chain fatty acids by the gut microbiota and their impact on human metabolism

The formation of SCFA is the result of a complex interplay between diet and the gut microbiota within the gut lumen environment. The discovery of receptors, across a range of cell and tissue types for which short chain fatty acids SCFA appear to be the natural ligands, has led to increased interest in SCFA as signaling molecules between the gut microbiota and the host. SCFA represent the major ...
